Damn Good Cider

Thomas Brothers American Heirloom Series - Gravenstein

Hand-picked, pressed, slowly fermented and aged in neutral red wine oak barrels then bottle conditioned, racked, riddled and disgorged in the traditional champagne method.

The Gravenstein is a Danish apple first planted in Sonoma County, CA in 1811 by Russian fur trappers. They are difficult to grow, extremely delicate and easily perishable, making them particularly hard to come by. This apple has long been celebrated for its unique and exceptional taste, having a crisp and juicy texture and a flavor that is aromatic and full of old-fashioned, sweet, tart flavor

Thomas Brothers American Heirloom Series – Newtown Pippin

Hand-picked, pressed, slowly fermented and aged in neutral red wine oak barrels then bottle conditioned, racked, riddled and disgorged in the traditional champagne method.

The Newtown Pippin is of the first apples grown in the U.S. The first Newtown Pippin was harvested in 1730 on a farm in Newtown, Long island from a tree that sprouted from a random apple seed, or “pip”, (hence the surname “pippin”) brought over from England, possibly as early as 1666. The flavor is tart, balanced between sweet and acidic, honeyed with notes of pineapple.

Thomas Brothers American Heirloom Series – Rose’

Hand-picked, pressed, slowly fermented and aged on Zinfandel grape skins then bottle conditioned, racked, riddled and disgorged in the traditional champagne method.

The Rome apple, also known as Rome Beauty, originated from a tree planted on the banks of the Ohio River in Rome Township near Proctorville, Ohio in the early 19th century. It’s flesh is firm, crisp and juicy with a tangy pleasing flavor.

Zinfandel is a black skinned wine grape grown only in California. Production of this grape dates back to the mid 19th century, making it one of the oldest, if not the oldest California wine grape varieties. The taste of these grapes can range from red berry fruit flavors such as raspberry to blackberry, anise and pepper depending on the region from which they are grown.
